Quantum computing is a revolutionary paradigm in information processing that leverages the principles of quantum mechanics to perform computations. Unlike classical computers that use bits to represent either a 0 or a 1, quantum computers use quantum bits, or qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously due to a phenomenon called superposition. 

In addition to superposition, quantum computers leverage entanglement, another quantum phenomenon that allows qubits to be correlated in such a way that the state of one qubit instantaneously influences the state of another, regardless of the physical distance between them.
